Add these to your bucket list ASAP!
Summertime in the city has never been this sweet! After last summer, we all deserve to get outside and have a little fun. Treat yo' self and make some memories!
Here are some fun activities to check off your list this summer in Dallas.
Take me out to the ballgame is right! Cheer on Dallas’ team in the brand new park this summer. Besides baseball, the Rangers are also known for the most unique food in MLB, so don’t forget to try the fried cookie dough, vegan mac & cheese, brisket egg rolls and more!
BBQ Sampling
When in Texas, eat alllll of the barbecue! Pecan Lodge, Terry Black’s and Heim are all known for being the best in the area, so try all three and be the judge for yourself. The best kind of summer days include BBQ.
Every Thursday night throughout the summer and into the fall, the beautiful Dallas Arboretum hosts a concert series right on White Rock Lake. Explore the gardens, bring some drinks & snacks and listen to live music while the sun goes down!
After you explore Uptown, head over to the center of it all at Klyde Warren park for a little picnic! Food trucks line the park almost every day, so all you have to bring is a blanket and some good company for the perfect summer afternoon.
Head to a Rooftop Bar for Happy Hour
Looking for a rooftop? Who isn’t? Dallas is filled with them all across the city! As a little tip, these places always seem to have the best happy hours! HG Supply & Co., STIRR, The Henry and Happiest Hour are my personal favorites.
Take a Walk or Run on the Katy Trail
It’s impossible to be sad when you’re surrounded by people walking cute dogs and the city skyline. The Katy Trail is a Dallas staple all year round. After a walk or run down the path, be sure to head over to the Ice House for food and drinks!
Venture out of the city to Grapevine for a little relaxation and a lot of wine! This suburb is known for its wineries with pretty views and even better grapes. It’s a must for sure!
When in doubt, head to TopGolf for some summer fun! Everyone loves the game because no matter your skill level, you’ll be sure to have a blast.
Make a Splash at Joe Pool Lake
Grab the boat (or rent one) and head over to this huge man-made lake! If water sports aren’t your thing, you can hang by the sandy beach and soak up the summertime sun on the edge of the water. Yes, Texas DOES have beaches!
Fort Worth/Dallas Zoo
As a TCU grad, the Fort Worth Zoo (number 1 in the U.S., if I might add!) holds a special place in my heart. The Dallas Zoo is great too, but it’s always fun to head to a new city and see what else is around. When in Fort Worth, head over to the Stockyards too!
What's on your Dallas bucket list?
Always,
Alina Ann
